7 Steps to your Dream Garden
1. Initial consultation
From our first conversation, and perhaps some photos of your current garden, I will begin to gather as much information as possible about your vision for your new garden. I will ask you about your design requirements, your use of your garden, stylistic preferences and the practical parameters such as timeline and outline budget.
As a guide line, the full design (including Site survey, Concept Design, 3D Visualisations, Final plan, Planting plan, Landscaping pack) for
- a small garden costs between £1,850 and £2,550
- a medium garden between £2,850 and £3,650
- a garden with multiple zones from £3,950
I can give you an estimate of the design fee after our first meeting on site.
2. Garden Survey
To be able to maximise the potential of your plot and creating the best possible design matching your requirements, I need to carry out a 60-120 minute site survey, including the key parameters for your site such as accurate plot dimensions, soil type, sun and shade distribution, privacy issues, features to be enhanced and areas to be hidden, drainage and existing planting.
During the survey visit we will discuss some initial ideas for the design and I will show you samples for different styles of garden plantings.
3. Initial design presentation
From the site survey, I will prepare a 3D computer aided design model and you will be able to enjoy a “virtual walk” through your new garden. We will review this together and I will incorporate your feedback into the design.
*If you only require a planting scheme from me, I will offer you a personalised package price for the site survey and planting plan based on your requirements.
4. Final design
We can fine tune the design and the planting scheme based on your feedback until we are both happy with the final design.
I will leave you with 3D virtualisations of the design.
If necessary, we can consider phasing options which will accommodate your budget and timeframe without compromising your design goals.
The consultancy fee to finalise the Design, create the Master Plan, Landscaping Package, and Planting plan is is £50 p/h.
5. Master Plan, Landscaping pack and Planting plan
The full design will include everything a landscaping team would need to know in order to transform the design into reality, a Plant list with info for you with pictures of each plant and a planting schedule for the exact number of plants.
6. Transforming your plan into reality
The landscaping work can now begin to make your dream garden become reality. I am happy to work with your preferred landscaping constructors or I can introduce you to my trusted partners of landscapers, electrician and gardeners with whom I have worked successfully before.
I have access to many specialist and ‘trade only’ plant nurseries to ensure that you get well established plants for a reasonable price on time for your project.
I would remain in close contact with you and your landscaping team during the entire construction project. I would oversee progress and assist you with spotting any issues before they occur. I am a very practical, hands on person and would stay closely involved so that we achieve the best results possible.
Plant and landscaping materials sourcing and site visits are charged at the standard rate of £35 p/h.
7. Watching your garden to grow
I see my gardens as ‘my babies’. I would love to stay connected even when the garden is complete and would be happy to answer any questions or making suggestions for any further improvements as your garden matures and evolves.
